As many of you know, I’m teaching a course through the Harvard-MIT Program in Health Sciences and Technology (HST) this term that centers on leveraging big data for global health. We kicked off last Friday with a keynote from John Brownstein, Chief Innovation Officer at Children’s Hospital and director of HealthMap Computational Epidemiology Lab (one of my academic homes). Tomorrow, I’ll be running my first small-group-based workshop: strengths and weaknesses of novel data streams. Sometime next week, I’ll try to post the lesson plan (which will almost entirely consist of structured questions to encourage dialectical learning). Stay tuned, everybody!
